After photographing JB Blunk’s home for Handcrafted Modern, I became involved in the artists residency that was run here by the Lucid Arts Foundation in partnership with Mariah Nielson and the JB Blunk estate. I saw photographing the artists in residence as a way that I could give back and support the spirit of JB and the magnificent work that I had become very attached to and moved by. I never had any notion of how much I would learn and grow from the interactions and photo shoots with these artists over two years. I was still in the early explorations of photographing people and their environments and through returning to this same home, over and over, as it evolved with the different residents, I realized the subtle evolution of a home is a captivating thing for me.
Each artist made the house and studio their own for their stay and I always enjoyed seeing the subtle and not so subtle changes.
